USB Flash Drives Benchmarked

Here be a growing collection of USB Thumb drives and their all important read and write speeds. This is a rough article right now, needs time to build but please feel free to add your own drives read and write speeds in the comments and I'll update the article.

Sadly no speeds are listed for this flash drive so all we have to go on are my own benchmarks.

Average Read = 18.9MB/s

Average Write = 13.9MB/s

OCZ Rally2 4GB Website
It's interesting how the quoted speeds of up to 32-35MB/s (read), 8-15MB/s (write) do not match well with my own benchmarks.

Average Read = 21.9MB/s
Average Write = 10.5MB/s

Kingston Datatraveler Elite 4GB Website
Poor write performance lets the Datatraveler down, leading to an overall mediocre product.

Average Read = 18.9MB/s
Average Write = 6.7MB/s

Kingston Datatraveler HyperX 8GB Website
Nippy read performance but really let down when it comes to writing.

Average Read = 18.0MB/s
Average Write = 4.4MB/s

Sandisk Titanium Cruzer 2GB No longer listed on Website
Oh Sandisk, where did it all go wroung, still, read performance isn't too bad.

Average Read = 16.2MB/s
Average Write = 3.2MB/s

PNY Attaché 2GB Website
Never liked PNY products and here is some ammunition as to why.

Average Read = 13.4MB/s
Average Write = 2.8MB/s

Corsair Flash Voyager GT 4GB Website
Now this is what I'm talking about. Great drive for when speed really matters.

Average Read = 34MB/s
Average Write = 28MB/s
